Guild Wars novels
Please do tell me if this is the wrong forum for this discussion.
But I was wondering... anyone here bought / read the Guild Wars novels? I'm interested in buying them, but I'd like some feedback first from anyone that read them. Also, who exactly are the people in it? Are there some characters we might recognise from the game, or are they completely different people that bridge the gap between GW and GW2? Discuss / feedback away! |

Well the novels have been talked about on gw2guru
The characters in both books is from same time period as we will enter, so yes we will meet at least some of them in gw2. Second book is actually about destinies edge which we all know we will most likely encounter in gw2. If they are worth reading.... imo yes, the first (ghosts of ascalon) slightly better than the other one, but if you are a fan of gw and intend to be so of gw2 also I think you might like them. Will I buy the 3rd book ones it comes out? most definitely yes |

I believe Ghosts of Ascalon (1st book) takes place 1 year before the events of GUild Wars2. It's protagonist is a thief/treasure hunter or some sort and he goes on a journey with a Norn, Sylvari, Asura, and Charr to recover a lost relic.
Edge of Destiny (book2) takes place 5 years before Guild Wars2. It is about the characters of the guild Destinies Edge, how they got together. Many people like Ghosts better but I found Edge of Destiny much more entertaining. Edge of Destiny also makes you excited for the personal story part of Guild Wars 2. Hope you enjoy them. |

Ghosts of Ascalon is a better book than Edge of Destiny, in my opinion, but EoD have a bit more info about the game.
BTW you'll find the members of the Destinies Edge in game, Caithe will be one of the first NPCs you'll find as a sylvari, Rytlock Brimstone appears in the Ascalonian Catacombs. |

Opinions ahoy~ Q&A is for facts, not opinions. You could check out the Ghosts of Ascalon review posted here or you could head on over to Guild Wars 2 Guru and check out the discussions there.
